Grove helps IBL Group in Mauritius improve their cyber resilience

Grove, a cybersecurity reseller and distributor, today announced that IBL Group, a leading international conglomerate in Mauritius, has signed a deal to adopt Mimecast’s cyber resilience solutions.

IBL has identified cybersecurity threats as a top business risk for the next years. “African businesses must strengthen their cyber defences in a world that is becoming more and more connected”, said IBL’s Group Information and Technology Executive Laurent Fayolle. “Future proof organisations need to secure their technology ecosystem to protect their finances and data and keep their reputations intact.”

Grove will supply and deploy Mimecast’s cyber resilience solutions and offer 24/7 support. This will be implemented across an estimated 2,500 email users in the full group of companies and their subsidiaries. Services include Mimecast’s advanced email security, business continuity, email archiving and Awareness Training, all delivered from Mimecast’s expanded cloud suite.

“The aim is to future-proof our business’, Fayolle continues. ‘Through Grove, we found a SaaS service with automated maintenance that helps improve employee productivity and improves our ability to meet compliance requirements and manage cyber threats. Lots of effort will be put on the cyber awareness of our collaborators both at professional and personal level. We need to remember that it’s everyone’s duty to build-up cyber resilience, it’s not a simple “IT matter” anymore”

According to Mevin Goonmeter, IBL’s IT Infrastructure Operations Manager, “Upholding the trust of our customers is of utmost importance. It is good governance to improve our employees’ cyber-consciousness and to protect customer data. Archiving allows us to store emails for long periods, so we’re able to access supporting records in the event of a claim or litigation. We need to be able to quickly and easily search for information from our archives at any time. One lost email could result in not having adequate backing or supporting information when faced with a claim.”

In their 2018 State of Email Security report, Mimecast shows that email is the number one cyberattack vector. Almost 90% of surveyed organisations reported that the volume of phishing attacks either increased or stayed the same. Internal threats are also on the rise with most organisations having encountered internal threats driven by careless employees (88%), compromised accounts (80%) or malicious insiders (70%).

“Grove has been instrumental in introducing Mauritius brands like IBL Group to Mimecast’s offering,” says Paul Stafford, General Manager Coast, Mimecast South Africa. This is an exciting market to be operating in and having an experienced partner to help us educate customers about the importance of cyber resilience is essential. We are pleased with the work Grove is doing to explain to businesses the importance of having a full suite of solutions that are designed to provide comprehensive security controls before, continuity during, and automated recovery after a cyberattack.

“In collaboration with our local cyber partner, BDO IT Consulting, we will continue to expand our footprint on the island,” says Grove Strategic Partnerships and Innovation Director Chad Bartlett. “Our aim is to assist enterprises like IBL Group with implementing state-of-the-art cybersecurity technologies and to further scale our impact in the region when it comes to mitigating cyber risks.”
